Why the Injury Recovery Journey Matters More Than the Outcome
Video masterclass
Stop Waiting for Things to Get Better
Stop waiting for things to get better. Three steps to overcome pain: create an end goal, face what happens if you don’t, then flip fear into courage now. Watch the full session below — then open the video page for notes, timestamps, and related guides.
The journey is the in-between
For people who don’t know what a journey is: it’s everything from the start point to the end point of your goal. That’s the whole stretch — not just the day you “arrive.”
In Stop waiting for things to get better we say it plainly: the journey is beautiful, and sometimes it is more important than the outcome. Watch on YouTube.
You’ll look back
Once you’ve got to the outcome, you look back at the path and think: wow, I’ve grown so much. The rainy sessions. The days you almost stayed home. The moment you flipped “are you okay living like this?” into “I’m going to.” That’s the growth. The medal, the hike, the first game back — those are evidence. The person who can hold them was built in the in-between.
That’s also why the end goal still matters. Without a destination you’re not on a journey — you’re wandering. The goal gives the in-between a shape. Perspective is the switch.
Stop waiting to arrive
- Name the start point (honestly) and the end goal (specifically).
- Treat this week’s session as part of the journey, not a delay until “real life” starts.
- Run the mental layer in sequence with Brick By Brick.

Frequently Asked Questions
What do you mean by “the journey” in rehab?
Everything between today’s start point and your end goal — the sessions, flare-ups, hard days, and identity work in between. That stretch is the journey.
Does that mean the outcome doesn’t matter?
The outcome still matters. That’s why you set the goal in step one. The point is that waiting for the finish line wastes the part that actually changes you.
