Polarity: Fear Has Courage
Video masterclass
Stop Waiting for Things to Get Better
Stop waiting for things to get better. Three steps to overcome pain: create an end goal, face what happens if you don’t, then flip fear into courage now. Watch the full session below — then open the video page for notes, timestamps, and related guides.
Every emotion has an opposite
Step three of Stop waiting for things to get better is polarity. It’s an equation for getting your life back:
- Fear has courage — you lean in, you don’t wait to feel brave.
- Anxiety has trust — you learn to trust the knee, the back, the shoulder again.
- Doubt has belief — you believe you are going to get there.
- Uncertainty has faith — you move before the path is fully lit.

Flip what you wrote in step two
This only works after you’ve been honest. What happens if you don’t make it gives you the raw list. Then you invert every line:
- “Are you okay with never being completely confident?” → I’m going to be completely confident.
- “Never kicking a ball with my friends?” → I’m going to kick a ball around with my bros and my girls. That’s why I’m getting better.
- “Never playing with my kids?” → I’m going to overcome this pain, anxiety and hesitation so I can play with my kids.
- “Never hiking with my friends?” → I’m going to overcome the fear, doubt and hesitation so I can hike.
You’ve already started
Once the list is flipped, you’re not waiting for a future version of you. You’re already on the journey — everything between today’s start point and the end goal. The polar response is the first brick.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does polarity mean in rehab?
Every emotion and action has an equal and opposite. If you’ve written the cost of staying the same, you flip each line into the life you’re going to build — and you start that journey the moment you write it.
How is this different from “just think positive”?
You don’t skip the hard list. You complete it first (what happens if you don’t change), then invert it. The flip only works because you were honest about the cost.
Where can I see the pairs written out?
In “Stop waiting for things to get better” (https://youtu.be/YKBSM0LKgfU) — fear/courage, anxiety/trust, doubt/belief, uncertainty/faith.
