Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy
Evidence-based treatment for joints, muscles and ligaments — from acute sprains to chronic pain — at our Cabramatta clinic serving Fairfield, Liverpool and South West Sydney.

Overview
About our musculoskeletal physio service
Musculoskeletal physiotherapy is the core of what we do at Evolve Physiotherapy & Mastery. Whether you have woken up with a stiff neck, rolled an ankle at sport, or been living with lower back pain for months, our physiotherapists assess how your joints, muscles, nerves and connective tissues work together — then build a plan to get you moving again.
We are first-contact practitioners in Australia, which means you do not need a GP referral to book. Most patients are seen within the same week. Sessions are fully one-on-one: your physio stays with you for the entire appointment, using hands-on techniques, targeted exercise and clear home guidance so progress continues between visits.
Our Cabramatta clinic sits at the heart of Southwest Sydney — an easy drive from Fairfield, Liverpool, Canley Vale, Bankstown and surrounding suburbs. We accept private health (HICAPS on the spot), Medicare CDM/EPC plans, WorkCover, DVA and NDIS where applicable.
Why choose Evolve
What you can expect
Accurate diagnosis
We take time to understand your history, aggravating factors and goals — not just where it hurts today. That means fewer wasted sessions and a plan matched to your body.
Hands-on + exercise
Manual therapy, dry needling, taping and joint mobilisation where appropriate — always paired with exercises you can actually do at home or in the gym.
Return to sport & work
Progressive loading plans for athletes, tradies, desk workers and parents. We bridge the gap between "pain is better" and "I trust my body again."
Injury prevention
Once acute pain settles, we address the movement patterns and strength gaps that led to injury — so you are less likely to end up back on the treatment table.

FAQs
Musculoskeletal Physio — frequently asked questions
What is musculoskeletal physiotherapy?
Musculoskeletal physiotherapy focuses on conditions affecting bones, joints, muscles, ligaments and tendons — essentially the moving parts of your body. Treatment typically combines assessment, hands-on therapy, exercise prescription and education about how to manage and prevent symptoms.
Do I need a referral for musculoskeletal physio in NSW?
No. Physiotherapists are first-contact practitioners in Australia, so you can book directly without seeing a GP. A referral is only required for specific funding pathways such as Medicare CDM/EPC plans, some WorkCover scenarios, or DVA.
How long does a musculoskeletal physio session take?
Initial assessments are typically 45–60 minutes so we can assess thoroughly and start treatment. Follow-up sessions are usually 30–45 minutes depending on your needs. Every session is one-on-one with your physiotherapist.
Is musculoskeletal physio covered by private health insurance?
Yes. Most extras policies include physiotherapy. We process HICAPS claims on the spot at our Cabramatta clinic — you pay only the gap. We also accept Medicare CDM/EPC referrals, WorkCover, DVA and NDIS where eligible.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Wear comfortable clothing that allows us to see and move the affected area. Bring any relevant scans, surgeon letters or imaging reports if you have them, plus a list of medications. If you have private health or a Medicare plan, bring those details too.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on your condition, how long you have had symptoms and your goals. Many acute injuries improve within 4–8 sessions; chronic or post-surgical cases often need longer. Your physio will give you a realistic timeline after the first assessment.
