Overview

About our exercise physiology service in Cabramatta

An Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) is a four-year university-qualified allied health professional who prescribes exercise as medicine. At Evolve Physiotherapy & Mastery in Cabramatta, our exercise physiologist focuses on longer-term programs that rebuild strength, cardiovascular fitness, balance and confidence — especially when the goal is independence rather than short-term pain relief.

We deliver exercise physiology for NDIS participants, aged care clients and WorkCover patients across Cabramatta, Fairfield, Liverpool and Southwest Sydney. Typical caseloads include stroke recovery, neurological conditions, deconditioning after injury, chronic disease management and graded return-to-work conditioning once acute rehab is complete.

Our exercise physiologist is also one of the online therapists who run Evolve's Online Rehab Academy — structured remote programs for people rebuilding after knee, back and other injuries who want expert guidance between clinic visits or from home.

Why choose Evolve

What you can expect

NDIS & aged care expertise

Goal-focused programs for participants and older adults — mobility, falls prevention, strength for daily tasks, and community access.

WorkCover conditioning

Graded exercise programs to restore work capacity after workplace injury, coordinated with certificates of capacity and return-to-work plans.

Online Rehab Academy

Remote coaching and structured programs led by our EP — the same clinical standards as in-clinic care, delivered online when geography or schedule is a barrier.

FAQs

Exercise Physiology — frequently asked questions

What does an exercise physiologist do?

AEPs assess how your body responds to exercise and design supervised programs to improve strength, fitness, balance and function. They specialise in clinical exercise for injury, disability and chronic disease — not just general personal training.

How is an exercise physiologist different from a physiotherapist?

Physios typically lead on acute pain, manual therapy, post-surgical rehab and complex neurological assessment. AEPs typically lead on longer-term progressive exercise — building capacity once symptoms are stable. Many NDIS and WorkCover patients benefit from both at different stages.

Is exercise physiology funded by the NDIS?

Yes. AEP services are typically funded under Capacity Building — Improved Health and Wellbeing or Improved Daily Living, depending on your goals. Self-managed and plan-managed participants can access our services directly.

Do you see aged care clients?

Yes. We work with older adults in clinic and in supported environments where appropriate — focusing on strength, balance, mobility and maintaining independence for daily living.

Can WorkCover fund exercise physiology?

Yes, when included in an accepted WorkCover claim and clinically indicated for return-to-work conditioning. We coordinate with your case manager and can bill the insurer directly when approved.

What is the Online Rehab Academy?

Evolve's Online Rehab Academy is a structured recovery platform with video-guided programs and remote coaching from our clinical team. Our exercise physiologist is one of the therapists who deliver online sessions and guide participants through progressive rehab from home.
